We want you to be satisfied with your purchase from Sugat Book Depot, including books, devotional items, and Chivar (Buddhist monk robes). Please read this policy carefully, as some products — particularly religious offerings — have specific handling.
3.1 Cancellations
Orders can be cancelled free of charge before they are shipped. Contact us immediately at
+91 9028360464 to request cancellation.Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled, but may be eligible for return per the terms below.
3.2 Returns — General
Products (books, general merchandise) may be returned within [7] days of delivery if unused, in original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the product was defective or incorrect.
3.3 Returns — Chivar / Religious Offerings (Important)
Because Chivar and similar devotional items are often purchased as an offering (Chivar Daan) tied to a specific ceremony, date, or recipient (a monk or monastery), the following applies:
Chivar sets are eligible for return or exchange only if the item is defective, damaged in transit, or materially different from what was ordered (wrong color/size sent).
Due to the nature of the item as a spiritual offering, we are unable to accept returns for reasons of personal preference once the item has been dispatched, given the timing sensitivity around Varshavas/Kathina season fulfillment.
Please double-check color and size selections carefully before ordering, especially for bulk/monastery orders, as these are typically time-critical for a specific ceremony date.
3.4 Damaged or Incorrect Items
If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item:

We will arrange a replacement or full refund once the issue is verified, at no additional cost to you.
3.5 Refund Method and Timeline
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within [5–10] business days of approval.
For Cash on Delivery orders (if applicable), refunds are processed via bank transfer or UPI, requiring your bank details.
3.6 Bulk / Monastery Orders
